Jackson College Michigan Transfer Agreement

Institutional Partnership Agreement: Build and encourage cooperation between our community college partners and Ferris State University. The agreement was developed as a joint effort between the two institutions and establishes guiding principles for the Community College and the Ferris Partnership, and underscores our commitment to preparing students together for successful careers, responsible citizenship and lifelong learning. SMT 100 and SMT 111 are required for the EMU Sport Management Program. If they are not transferred by JC, they must be completed under EMU. Students can choose up to 20 hours of credit for additional courses of 100 levels or higher transferable courses. Optional online or in-person diploma (Location of Jackson College). 30-46 credits in technical courses from an accredited JC program or discipline can be transferred in bulk for technical concentration. Through collaborative partnerships with community colleges, Ferris State University has implemented program transfer guides to help students move from their community colleges to the FSU. Students use a transfer guide when considering transferring from one institution to another. Students take the transfer guide to take certain courses that meet the requirements of both post-secondary institutions. Articulation agreements are formal agreements between two or more higher education institutions and universities that document the guidelines for transfers of a particular program or diploma. Under this agreement, Wayne State University waives the 60-hour rule and requires that at least 45 credits be taken in courses offered by the WSU.

This allows students to spend more than 60 hours of credit at Jackson University, and let those hours be applied to their license. This agreement fulfills Jackson College`s science-degree associate, Jackson College`s Fundamental Engineering Certificate, the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) and the courses required for the College of Engineering at Wayne State University. ACC 216, CIS 173, COM 231, COM 240, CIS 134, CIS 136, CIS 234, PSY 144 for EMU`s BS in Communication Technology program. If this is not the transfer, EMU must be completed. WMU Essential Studies (WES) is the program required for all students at Western Michigan University. The courses are designed to help students change smoothly and make a contribution; Develop perseverance and be ready for their future. Students develop the skills that employers look for most in graduates – complex problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence, judgment and decision-making. The WES guide is for catalog years from 2020. The MTA completes WES Levels 1 and 2, so transfer students are encouraged to complete the MTA before moving to Western. Students who pass the JC Respiratory Therapy Program prior to the transition to EMU are repealed exsc 144, EXSC 330L4, EXSC 433 and EXSC 480L4. CNS 101, CNS 106, CNS 121, CNS 123, CNS 124, CNS 128, CNS 131, CNS 141, CNS 201, CNS 210, CNS 221 and CIS 158 are required for the UEM IACD program. If this is not the transfer of JC, EMU will have to be completed.

Note: Jackson College Associates in the Arts and Associates in General Studies grades offer the greatest flexibility in terms of transfer.
